DRX Research
This page contains summaries and downloads of research studies and articles published on the DRX9000. Right click the download icons under each study summary to view, open or save the entire published articles.

ASA Chart Review
This study presented to the American Society of Anesthesiologists was performed by the Axiom Worldwide Medical Advisory Board, consisting of researchers from Stanford University, Johns Hopkins University, NEMA Biomedical Research, and the COPE Foundation. Patients reported an average 90% improvement in back pain and better function as measured by activities of daily living. On a 0 to 10 scale (0=Not satisfied to 10= Very Satisfied) patients rated their DRX9000 treatment at an 8.98/10 classified as "High Level Satisfaction". None of the patients required more invasive treatments, ie. Surgery.
Journal of Neuro Imaging
This paper was presented at the 21st Annual Meeting of the American Society of Neuroimaging. It is authored by Dr. Edward L. Eyerman, M.D., of the St. Louis University School of Medicine and discusses the physiologic effects of nonsurgical spinal decompression therapy (NSD) on the healing, repair, and regeneration of spinal discs, measured with Magnetic Resonance Imaging, resulting in significant reduction of pain. The ultimate conclusions drawn relate to: "MRI Evidence of Nonsurgical, Mechanical Reduction, Rehydration and Repair of the Herniated Lumbar Disc" as observed through this study.
BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders
Most recent study on the DRX9000 published in July 2010, demonstrating a direct correlation between the increase of spinal disc height and the reduction of lower back pain following a course of treatment utilizing the DRX9000 Procedure. Conclusions include the observation of disc regeneration and repair as a result of treatment rendered with the DRX9000.
DRX Research
This 2008 Study was a "Prospective Evaluation of the Efficacy of Spinal Decompression via the DRX9000 for Chronic Low Back Pain. It was authored by Dr. John Bruce Leslie, M.D., (Department of Anesthesiology, Mayo Clinic), Dr. Joseph V. Pergolizzi, M.D., (Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Dr. Alex Macario, M.D., (Stanford University) Dr. Christian C. Apfel, M.D., PhD., (Clinical Research Consultants, LLC)(Stanford University), Dr. Darren Clair, M.D., (Vibrance Medical Group), Charlotte Richmond, PhD.,(NEMA Research, Inc.) Frank Florio, D.C. (Axiom Worldwide, Inc.), Martin Auster, M.D., (Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine) Finding Summary was that nearly 90% of the patients treated with the DRX9000 procedure reported significant (over 80% avg.) pain reduction. The researchers concluded that due to variations in equipment technology, these results could not be equated with the use of non-DRX systems.
